Chicago Trip - Spring Break '08
Last Spring break, me, my mom, my dad, my sister, and my bff Court went to Chicago. It was an intresting trip. It was a freezing morning at the end of March. We headed to the train station at around 6. We waited about an hour for the train to come in the freezing cold. The train ride to Chicago was about 4 hours long. We spent the time watching movies on our ipods and doing our homework for pre-algebra (i have a good memory) I forgot were we stayed (okay maybe I dont have such a good memory) but it was a small little hotel, right in the center of everything. We went to this one pizza place for lunch. It took forever to get our food. But it was some really good pizza. I remember when waiting to get a table, me and court and my sister walked down to the corner to mcdonalds to get shakes because we were so hungry. This creepy homeless guy was in there just staring at us smiling. It was really scary he started talking to us and we immideitley sprinted out of there and ran for our lives back to the resturant. It was really scary lol. We spent the day walking around Chicago walking in all of the stores and such. I remember the 3-story H&M store. It was HUGE. For dinner I remember going to this old famous italian resturant Rose Buds or something like that. i remember from the last chicago trip that they had really awesome Italian food but it wasnt as good as I remembered it being. My First Chicago trip a few years ago was definitley better then my latest one. It was so much more eventful. I remember going to the Navy Peir being packed and walking. I remember it being a tad warmer then it was. I remember taking the taxi every were we went. I remember going to this super fun lunch place called Edbedevics and having a blast. I remember eating at the most amazing breakfast place ever. I remember running across the street in the rain to the AMC going to see benchwarmers on fathers day. I remember having late night dinners and going to the Hersheys store getting a warm hot chocolate and taking the taxi back to the hotel. I remember the hotel being HUMONGOUS. I remember ordering the best chicken fingers from room service for a late night snack. I remember going to the Shedd aquarium. I remember waking up easter morning in our hotel room looking for easter baskets and going to the most beautiful church for Easter sunday mass. It was nothing I remembered going back this year. It just wasnt the same. I was somewhat dissapointed. Ecspecially since me and my friend Court faught 99.9% of the time. But we are like sisters so its nothing new for us to fight. Chicago will always have a place in my heart but not the Chicago from spring break, but the real Chicago I remember.
